The PTA's annual calendar typically includes 5 major events:
Every December we give the school halls a club-themed makeover. Children groove to the DJs' tunes while grownups enjoy mulled wine and homebaked treats in the Parents' Cafe.
In January we set up bouncy castles in the school halls and invite children to bounce as many times as they can in one minute. Our all-time top bouncer bounced 189 times!
Our spring 10k/half marathon race is a joint effort with Sandhurst Primary School's PTA. The course starts at Torridon, loops around the local neighbourhoods and parks, and finishes outside Sandhurst, where we host a play street and bake sale.
The kids get their turn to race in the summer term at our Fun Run in Forster Park. Participants all get a t-shirt to wear at the event and later on PE days, and finishers of the 1-mile course get a medal.
Our largest annual event offers a full day of family fun with games and activities, hot food and a licenced bar, live performances, and more.
Throughout the year we hold a number of sales and fundraisers:
Typically once per term, we invite children to wear their own clothes to school for a suggested donation of £1.
We offer donated second-hand uniforms at multiple sales through the year, including on parent evenings and at the fair.
It's sustainable! Reduce consumption of new products by buying second-hand, and reduce waste by passing along items that still have life after your child has outgrown them.
It's affordable! All families should have access to high quality uniforms for their children, whether or not they can afford to buy new. PTA suggests a donation for items in our pre-loved uniform sales, but payment is always optional.
It supports the PTA! We've raised over £1,300 since 2022 by selling donated uniforms.
The talented home bakers in our community really deliver for our bake sales, which we hold alongside our major events and at popup sales through the year. We're always grateful for donations of home baked or store-bought treats, especially those that cater for people with medical and cultural dietary requirements.
