What is the Sponsored Bounce?

Friends of Torridon PTA hosts this popular, annual fundraiser. We set up bouncy castles in the school halls and give each child the chance to bounce for 1 minute while volunteers count their bounces. All children receive a certificate after the event. We encourage children to seek sponsorship donations from their family and friends. Check your child's bookbag for a sponsorship form or collect one from the school office. 

How can I sponsor a child?

You can donate online at www.gofundme.com/f/sponsored-bounce-2026; don't forget to add Gift Aid if you're a UK tax payer! Alternatively, cash or cheques payable to Friends of Torridon PTA Committee can be handed into the school office. If you pledge an amount per bounce, bear in mind that most children bounce around 80 times per minute, and top bouncers can reach over 150 bounces.

When is the event?

This year’s Sponsored Bounce is on Thursday, 29th January during the school day. See when your child's class is scheduled to bounce here. A note about Year 2: given their trip to the Science Museum that day, we've allowed time before and after school for the Year 2 children to bounce. Any children who aren't able to complete the bounce on Thursday will have the opportunity to bounce on the trampoline in the Resource Base playground on another day. 

Will all children participate?

Yes, if they want to! All students will have the opportunity to bounce, whether they receive sponsorship donations or not. Children may opt out if they don’t want to participate.

What does the PTA do with the money it raises?

The PTA is a registered charity (No. 1103329) run by parent volunteers with the support of school staff. Your generous donations help us run fun and engaging community events like the Disco and Summer Fair. We also fund school improvement projects like the playground, library, and Outdoor Learning Space. This year we’re saving for tablets to support digital learning. We earmark 10% of our net proceeds to support vulnerable families in our community.

Can I come to watch my child bounce?

No, but all are welcome and encouraged to help out on the day. Sign up here!
